The IP classification, (International Protection), which is used internationally, is an accurate method for indicating the protection degrees of enclosures.
The IP rating indicates how resistant a product is to water, objects and dust. Depending on the situation, the IP class must be selected so that adequate protection is achieved.

The IP degree of protection is indicated by two numbers:

1. Protection against ingress of objects and dust:
